Our Wandering Pack

The idea of living and traveling in an RV didn’t happen overnight—it was the result of countless conversations, dreams shared around campfires, and a desire for something more intentional and fulfilling. For Our Pack, RV life isn’t just a change of scenery; it’s a shift in how we live, connect, and experience the world.

The Wake-Up Call

For years, I poured my heart into a nonprofit career, supporting people with disabilities. Maddy, balanced her passion for physical activity with coaching and advocacy. But somewhere along the way, the work began to take a toll. We were burned out, stretched thin, and yearning for a life that gave us more time for the things that truly mattered.

One evening, sitting around a campfire in PA with our dogs, Maddy asked “What if we lived differently?” That simple question opened the floodgates.

Rediscovering What Matters

We realized we’d spent so much time chasing deadlines and meeting obligations that we’d forgotten to prioritize our own happiness. What we craved wasn’t more success or recognition—it was freedom. Freedom to wake up with the sunrise, explore new trails, and spend unhurried time trying collecting new experiences and loving on our dogs.

We started talking about our favorite moments: climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, camping under the stars, and trail running through forests. These weren’t just vacations; they were the times we felt most alive. It became clear that we didn’t want these moments to be the exception—we wanted them to be our life.

Why RV Life?

When we began exploring how to turn this dream into reality, Travel Trailer life stood out. It offered:

• Flexibility: The freedom to go wherever the road takes us.
• Simplicity: Downsizing our belongings and focusing on what truly matters.
• Adventure: Endless opportunities to explore the natural beauty of this country.

We also loved the idea of bringing our dogs along for the journey—because what’s an adventure without our pack?

Taking the Leap

Deciding to embrace building this life wasn’t easy. We had fears about leaving behind stability and the comfort of the familiar. But the more we planned, the more it felt like the right path. We started researching RVs, learning from seasoned travelers, and making preparations to hit the road. (Spoiler: there is so much to learn!)

A New Chapter

This decision wasn’t just about traveling; it was about redefining success and creating a life that aligns with our values. It’s about slowing down, connecting with nature, and building a community of fellow adventurers who share our love for the outdoors and the freedom of exploring the road ahead.

We’re still in the early stages of this journey, but we know one thing for sure: this leap of faith is already changing our lives in the best way.
